At the Summer Legal Institute, Chicago-area high school students students will...
- Meet with volunteer attorneys and members of the judiciary
- Visit the courts
- Participate in a mock trial
- Learn and apply high level negotiation skills
- Attend workshops on college readiness and business networking
- Present oral arguments for competitions, and
- HAVE FUN!!!
Students who have a strong interest in developing leadership skils are encouraged to apply to the Illinois State Bar Association Law & Leadership Cohort. The Cohort will...
- Focus on interactive games
- Engage students in high level group and individual legal projects and activities
- Develop leadership skills, qualities, and abilities
To complete the leadership training, the Cohort may have an extended schedule on some days of the program. Students are required to attend the SLI and Advanced SLI (the full three weeks) as a prerequisite to this program. To apply, check the appropriate box on the SLI Application above.
